Those Amazing Morgans
A couple of years ago, BYU invited the Clarence E Morgan family to come give a visiting artist lecture. Mr and Mrs Morgan showed their work during the lecture, and in the days that followed, they, along with their son, Nairobi, and their daughter, Nyeema, visited the BFA and MFA studios to critique student works. All four members of this amazing family are talented and highly esteemed artists. Their visit was such a treat for all of us who were able to meet them. What a beautiful family they are! I recorded some of their lectures, and have been trying to figure out how best to get these recordings to them, and I think this is probably the best mode. They are posted below, and although they might not be of interest to the average Joe (not being a video), to those who were at the lectures, they may provide some nice memories. I hope the Morgan family enjoys them.
To the Morgan family, I can't thank you enough for your willingness to come to Utah and share your amazing artwork with us. But more than just your art, you shared friendship, love, acceptance, and a keen insight into our work. I know I personally benefitted from your visit in many ways, and I feel certain I'm not alone in that assessment. I hope you are all in good health, and that you are continuing to find success and happiness in every corner of your worlds. With love and appreciation from Utah, ~Jayna Brown Quinn
The artwork above is that of Professor Clarence Morgan. It's a tiny slice of one of his works. I hope you don't my using it, Professor, but I preferred to include a photo of something relevant in that spot, and I don't have photos of your family. I may have taken some at the lunch we all shared just prior to your departure, but at the moment, I am not sure where I filed them. Please let me know if you prefer to have me remove the above work.
